  1. I cannot thank you enough for your assistance! As a mental health professional I am appalled at the treatment under this Baker Act! Change is desperately needed in the state of Florida!

  2. Laurie
Sorry in taking so long to take of my donation. We did get my mother home and if not for your information and words of encouragement I don’t know if that would have happened.

    Thank you

  3. It has been days since our grandson has been home and I still can’t stop thinking and worrying about his future. This 9 year old boy was placed in an environment where he was not only traumatized but gained methods on how to commit suicide by hanging (fellow patients modeled). A 9 year old child should never be placed in a group setting with teenagers. I witnessed this firsthand. This was far from age appropriateness. No one explored what other elements or health issues caused his behavior to warrant a Baker Act. We felt like the only way to get him back was to do whatever the staff wanted. The news, state attorney, and governor should be aware of this flawed program.
I am also alarmed at the increase of Baker acted youth in our state. Someone needs to explore what is happening to our children. They deserve better.

  4. Thank you so much for your guidance! You provided great comfort to me by educating me of our rights as well as the responsibilities of the mental health facilities. It was only because we were well informed that we were able resolve the issue quickly and favorably. We could not have done that without you. The follow up that you did just shows your level of commitment and passion for this difficult and confusing field. Thank you so much.

  5. We can not thank you enough for your help. We followed your instructions. The people at the hospital went from combative to an immediate release of my wife (Beth’s Mom).
These places and their policies are truly scary.
